Now I'll give you a few tested cool guitar licks and tricks. Mix, combine, extend them along with the jam track in your own taste and you'll soon hear how cool guitar solo coming out from your amp.
intro lick
This lick sounds especially impressive in the beginning of the jam right after hi hat intro beats. The first bending note is an artificial harmonic, if you didn't master artificial harmonics yet play this note as simple full bend note, it'll also ring great. When I slowly release the bend (BD - bend down) I begin to pick the string some number of times. The last note at 5th fret is a natural harmonic, I add a whammy bar dip to it and continue to use the bar to vibrate the note. Click here to learn how to perform natural harmonics.
Cool Guitar Cliche
First note of the pattern is stroked by a pick (downwards), second and third are played only with the left hand by hammer on / pull off technique, last 4th note is stroked by a pick (upwards). After the stroking I perform full bend and begin to play the same pattern again for a few times.
Easy and cool guitar phrase
Only each note at 20th fret is stroked by a pick in the lick. Using legato (hammer on/pull off technique) on the rest of the notes dramatically simplifies guitar fast playing. On the last note I perform a bend up to one tone and vibrate the string using whammy bar.
Hammer on / pull off fast rising
Here again using legato lets to play fast passage without much of guitar skills. Only first note on each string and last one is stroked by a pick.
